When dreamers dream

As a junior taking an 18 hour semester, I spend a lot of long difficult nights at my desk doing homework. Often, these nights become frustrating and seem pointless when it's one after another. So I figured for my first hackathon I would create something I could put at my desk that I found motivation in. I have always had a dream of retiring to a decommissioned lighthouse and living at the top. This lighthouse reminds me of the dream I have and to keep working hard and keeping those grades up.
I first took some wood and cut it into 6" by 1.5" pieces. I then glued them together onto a wooden platform and added popsicle sticks to fill in the spaces. I then went to painting. After doing so to both the lighthouse and the posts, I began to create the top of the lighthouse (where I want to live) out of foamcore. I used some twine to add railings and used foamcore and popsicle sticks for a roof. After that, I coded an Arduino program to blink an LED every second for the light at the top. Finally, I glued everything together and added rocks for some landscape at the bottom of the lighthouse.
